11th Annual GFBI Scholarship Awards Luncheon
held at Riccardo's Caterers, 21-01 24th Avenue, Astoria, New York 11102
(March 19, 2011)

It is clearly an exciting time at the G&B Foundation, Inc. (GBFI).

All awardees are individuals who have achieved a well-rounded high school career and we celebrated their achievements at our 10th Annual GBFI Scholarship Awards Luncheon held on March 19, 2011 from 1pm - 5pm. The awards ceremonies were much more than a scholarship check in the mail or a credit on a college or university bursar's business statement. Recipients, family and their friends gained an appreciation for the impact on them and the community when students are given a financial leg-up, as well as support and recognition by more than 200 luncheon attendees. We congratulate you, our 2010 Scholarship Awardees. The adult honorees are outstanding citizens in varying professional and civic involvement in the community. Well Done!

Most of the awardees are selected from the Bronx area and are referred by teachers, counselors, church officials, community activists and youth organizations. GBFI is active in civic, church and community organizations such as the Back to School Jam & Health Fair held annually in the Bronx and sponsored by the 161st Street Merchants Association and hosted by the Affinity Health Plan . We have an ongoing long-standing good relationship with the 161st Street Merchants Association. GBFI donates time, money and products to their endeavors.

Scholarship Funding strategies are ongoing to create programmatic bench-marks that will continue to be "relevant" to the awardees, their families and the community.

As we go forward with many exciting initiatives—it is proof positive that GBFI is in the midst of exciting times!
